Oops missed yesterday. Was busy all day with co-pilots wife and son and when they had returned to their lair I kinda sorta flaked...
I did hear from the wanderers late last night, they had arrived in deepest darkest Kent after a fine days sunny flying. I was a bit miffed that flying husband had not contacted me but I suppose he does have constant compnay and lots of stuff to do. Me not so much stuff to do and not so much company.
Today I enjoyed a nice lengthy hour or so in bed, being sad. I admit it I was sad, flying boys were heading to Headcorn for breakfast, and as a supportive, read bored, wifey I look up his route and destinations. Headcorn had a webcam so after ascertaining when he would be arriving I spent a good 20 minutes refreshing the webcam to watch the boys land and and walk through a gate!!!!! I did say I was sad.
Husband and I spoke whilst waving over a rather poor quality picture. If I didn't know it was Steve I wouldn't have recognised him. How silly is that?
I am now planning my own advennture tomorrow. A day out with " my other man" as husband calls him. We have to decide what exciting location to pick....ummmmm

Solstice days
So I see that the posting issue has now been sorted. Nothing like a spot of free wifi to put a smile on Husband's face. I am glad to finally see some photos and see that they have been having fun, communication has been a bit sparse. After looking at the clouds over Glenforsa I can see why they gave it a while before setting off this morning and I am glad that safe husband is that, safe. I don't want him putting himself in a possible danger to just because, so he is off piste, he is seeing the country and having fun, that's what counts.
I too am having fun, I have co-pilot's wife an son for an overnighter and we are having a lovely time; shopping has been involved, obviously, and food supplies have been arranged including a very promising looking diary and gluten fee strawberry cheesecake. Yum. Diet what diet? And before husband pouts too much it has been cut in half and some is in freezer awaiting his safe return.
We will be ritual ladies tonight as it is the summer solstice, well providing the 18mth old small person goes off to sleep. It is also our anniversary tonight, good excuse I reckon for that cheesecake!

fun in the sun
So after a text last night saying husband had no battery I was feeling a bit blue as you can imagine. Still he has made it to Glenforsa today on Mull, what an achievement. I am so proud. Apparently they mat some wonderful people today at Glassonby who fd and watered them and tonight they are tucked up in the Glenforsa hotel. Alright for some.
I had a water fight in the garden with grandson, childe and Grandad, I got soaked but at least I could change and so could Baby Monster into his new birthday clothes, the other 2 had to soak up some rays to soak up the wet.
And a good time was had by all and I have drunk way to much wine so as a flying widow I don't feel too deprived......
short but sweet tonight folks.

Saturday shenanigans
I had to assume that all was well last night as I had heard nothing from intrepid flying husband until just before bed time. Phone battery was dying.... excuses excuses.
Ditto for this morning, I wondered where the were, I checked weather forecasts, I checked update sites no news. Now I figure no news is good news and got on with busy work. Cleaned the bathroom in readiness for guests and tidied husband's study!!!! I know, taking my life in my hands but it seemed to good an opportunity to waste, hopefully I will remember where everything is when he gets back.......
I didn't let husband into this secret of course when he phoned to update me of his whereabouts. He has gone off piste again, apparently it is "blowing a hooley" up the east coast so he had gone west and was phoning from Herefordshire. Tootling on up to Carlisle for the night apparently, a B&B is now in the plan as Carlisle has no overnight loos open; aah I remember it well. Tomorrow the weather is set to be fair for the isles. Don't ask me which ones in particular as he is off piste I have no route. Hopefully though this time he may well see some more of Scotland!
Me, I have discovered how much I can accomplish whilst bored and lonely! The BBQ is now clean, just hope it recovers from it's drenching and lights. Tee hee. Cake cake is made for Grandson tomorrow and house is remarkably tidy, now if I was cynical I could say that was the case because husband is away!

Leaving Home
Well true to standard operating practice by my Husband he managed to leave 1 1/2 hours late.... Yes admittedly he had informed his co-pilot he was running and hour late but he managed to exceed that as well. Gotta love him. Mild flurries of "where's my......" insert lost thing of choice, much more poring over maps whilst wifey packed, a quick bite of lunch which wifey was not prepared for and he was off. Driving away for a nice week's adventure.
So where do we think he will get stranded this year? How much of the rally will he be able to do given the constraints of our delightful British summer? Answers please.
As I sit here writing this it is raining and although there is a nice piccy of the tent at Old Sarum in the dry the rain fall radar shows heavy showers all evening and night. Maybe they will get lucky... Who knows; just hope he gives me advance warning before he opens the door to spend the night here and gives me a heart attack!!!
